The conference was organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International Australia and was attended by hundreds of people coming from various ethnical backgrounds and different parts of Australia including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and other regional cities as well as from Fiji and New Zealand. The conference was attended by Barbara Perry, Shadow Minister of NSW for Family and Community Services and the Hon. Shaoquett Moselmane, the member of the NSW Legislative Council. The audience at the lecture comprised senior citizens of various faiths, members of the parliaments, politicians, policy makers, senior scholars and religious leaders. Shaykh-ul-Islam who is on a significant peace promotion visit to Australia was also accompanied by Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, the President of Federal Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.

Speaking on Peace and Integration in the light of Holy Quran and sayings of Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri made it very clear that Islam means peace and security for not only the followers of Islam but for the whole humanity. He told the large gathering that terrorism cannot be justified in any form under the teachings of Islam. He said that a small minority of Muslim population, which is less than one percent of the whole Muslim population in the world, wrongly interprets the teachings of the Holy Quran. Unfortunately, the rest of the 99% peaceful and peace-loving Muslims remain unheard, as they don’t make any news. On the other hand, that minority people who create mischief and nuisance get huge coverage in the media headlines, which gives a false impression to the people living in the West that all Muslims are extremists, which is totally wrong. Come! Raise your voice against anti-people and exploitative system

Minhaj-ul-Quran International is a revivalist movement, which has been engaged in the relentless struggle to promote peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world under the inspiring leadership of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. It advocates comprehensive change and peaceful revolution in the political, economic and social structure so that the country becomes a welfare state as envisioned by its founding fathers. Change is not a function of number of individuals but it hinges on the purity and unity of ideology which serves as a clarion call for change. The building block of intellectual clarity is the spread of awareness. In order to attain the destination of comprehensive change in society, there is a need to wage consistent and determined struggle with a strong sense of conviction.

According to Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, if ten million people out of 170 million awaken their consciousness and stand up against the present exploitative, cruel, dishonest and elitist system and launch their peaceful and democratic struggle, none can stop the change from happening Read the rest of this entry

Mawlid Festival 2011: A struggle of peace, love and knowledge

The Hague – On Sunday March 27th, Mawlid Festival took place for the fourth time: the biggest multicultural event in The Netherlands entirely focused on Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) . This year’s theme of the festival was “A struggle of peace, love and knowledge”. Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League NL wanted to dispel the numerous misconceptions regarding Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and show his true character. Mawlid Festival was held this year for the fourth time in a row and it was a unique opportunity to convey the teachings and message of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League NL attempted to counterbalance the spiral of negativity concerning Islam, Muslims and the Prophet (peace be upon him) through lectures, discussions, photo slideshows, seminars and performances in order to show who Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) really was. The programme consisted of two sections: in the afternoon there were parallel side events such as lectures, nasheed recitals, presentations and the Mawlid market. In the evening the main programme took place in the theater’s biggest hall. The chief guests of the festival were Shaykh Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (son of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri), Shaykh Abdulaziz Fredericks from Glasgow, Peter Sanders from London and Shaykh Ramadan Qadri (Farghana Institute Manchester).
